He was voiced by Nobuyuki Hiyama in Soulcalibur Soulcalibur II and Soulcalibur VI, Fumihiko Tachiki in Soulcalibur III, Kosei Hirota in Soulcalibur Legends, Soulcalibur IV and Soulcalibur: Broken Destiny and Yasunori Masutani in Soulcalibur V in Japanese and by Ted D Agostino in Soulcalibur II, Patrick Ryan in Soulcalibur III, Michael McConnohie in Soulcalibur Legends, Soulcalibur IV and Soulcalibur: Broken Destiny, Charles Klausmeyer in Soulcalibur V and Kirk Thornton in Soulcalibur VI in English. He is the incarnation of the evil cursed sword well known as Soul Edge, he was originally considered the evil version of Siegfried Schtauffen when he picked up the sword and was completely overtaken by Soul Edge itself until being considered as the two new Nightmares known as Inferno (from Soul Calibur III - IV) and Graf Dumas in Soul Calibur V.
Nightmare is the overarching main antagonist of the Soul Calibur fighting game series.
